Right of Withdrawal from any/all RE Lessons

Please read below to see your rights as parents concerning Religious Education (RE) in our school, following the Education Act 1996 and the School Standards and Framework Act 1988.

According to these Acts, parents have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of Religious Education lessons. This right has been in effect since September 2008. We want to ensure that you are aware of this option and encourage you to exercise this right if you feel it is necessary.

Should you wish to withdraw your child from any RE lessons, we kindly ask that you arrange a meeting with the Headteacher to discuss this further. This will enable us to understand your reasons for the decision and to provide support or alternative arrangements to accommodate your child's educational needs.

At our school, we value diversity and understand that religious beliefs and practices vary among families. We respect the choices that parents make regarding their child's education and we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive academically and personally.
